This privacy policy applies to the 4 Clues app and the 4clues1word.com website, operated by Tangerine Torpedo.

Information we collect

• Account data. If you create an account, we store your email address, display name, and (optionally) a profile photo. You can also play anonymously as a guest.
• Game data. Progress, scores, streaks, coin balances, and purchases are stored so you can keep playing across sessions and devices.
• Usage & diagnostics. We use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google Analytics to understand how the game is used and to fix crashes. This includes device and interaction data.
• Advertising identifiers. With your permission (via App Tracking Transparency on iOS), we use your device's advertising identifier to serve and measure ads through Google AdMob and AppLovin MAX. You can change this anytime in your device Settings.
• Payment data. Purchases are processed by the App Store, Google Play, or Stripe on web. We do not see or store your card details.

How we use it

• Run the game: save progress, leaderboards, streaks, and coin balances.
• Show ads (for players who haven't removed them) and measure ad performance.
• Send optional notifications such as reminders and daily-challenge alerts.
• Fix bugs and improve the game.

• Algolia (player search)

Your choices

• Tracking. Decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt or change it later in iOS Settings.
• Notifications. Turn off in your device Settings.
• Account deletion. Delete your account and associated data from Profile → Settings → Delete Account inside the app, or contact us.

Children

4 Clues is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
